Thirsty Thursday Super Bowl Edition

The Superbowl is this Sunday and we thought what better way to honor it this Thirsty Thursday than suggesting two beers from the hometowns of the AFC and NFC champions. Because what else does one drink during a football game but a brewski right? And while sure we are fine with the Coors Light options we can do better.

NewEnglandCraftBeersTo honor the New England Patriots we explored the best New Endland breweries and beers. And there are a lot of great options both in taste and craftsmanship but also in hilarious names like Cambridge Brewing Company’s Audacity of Hops (for everyone hoping for a Patriot’s win without any inflate gate to tarnish the win). And of course we would be remiss not to point out the mother of all New England beers Sam Adams. Sure it is a juggernaut and a big player but hey so are the Patriots right?

Rooting for the Falcons?Atlanta has a great beer culture too. Eater has quite a round up of local options to explore to celebrate the Falcons in style and taste. According to Eater, Georgia’s craft beer scene has exploScreen Shot 2017-01-23 at 9.40.05 PMded in the past few years, and the Atlanta area has seen more than 10 new breweries open just since 2010.

That’s a lot of new options! We are partial to Wild Heaven which has been at the forefront of Georgia’s growing craft beer scene, but mostly because it has terrific bottles. Just look at the design. That says homage to monks brewing up tipples to us. But the most popular beer in Atlanta is local and longstanding favorite Sweetwater known in particular for their IPA and their 420 Extra Pale Ale.
