#MakeupHacks: Set Your Look With Translucent Powder

There’s more to powder than blushing and bronzing!  For some of you this might be shocking but for many dry skinned women a setting or translucent powder isn’t something they think about about until the dog days of summer. Women blessed with a dewier complexion or a troublesome T-Zone on the other hand know the magic of the translucent powder.  But it’s a staple every woman should invest in, even if you have a drier complexion a translucent powder has it’s benefits

Not only will makeup stay in place, but fine lines are minimized, excess oils are eliminated, and your complexion will look and feel smooth. A great powder won’t build up but rather go on smooth (cheaper powders can be cakey or pore polluting if they aren’t milled finely) with super airy feel that glides over skin. Yes, we might be talking about our new translucent powder that is a gorgeous blurring veil ready to keep cosmetics intact throughout the day. It is also a critical final step in contouring because as you add in darker and lighter colors to “shape” your face some areas will feel flattened and a translucent powder can help bring back dimension to your face.

Plus ours is just two inches around and half an inch thick so you can toss it into your bag. It looks super chic coming out of any clutch or purse and instead of surreptitiously going for a blotting powder mid-day in the bathroom (which can accidentally remove your makeup just as it soaks up oil if you aren’t careful) you can pull out a lovely gray compact, and dab on this powder to matte any shine and keep your makeup put. You brush it on with our purse sized Kabuki (the beauty of this powder is that it doesn’t build up a film as it is so fine) or just as easily grab a dab with your fingers and spot apply it to your T-Zone or oily areas specific to your face. Plus it is translucent so anyone can wear it.

The other thing to consider is that it can be worn on it’s own. If it simply feels to hot to wear a BB cream or concealer but you want a little bit of “something” to provide that optical veil this powder will do the trick nicely without feeling like you are wearing anything at all.
